I'm Martin, an intrapreneur, entrepreneur, and investor. I support companies in their transformation through innovation. My focus is on new ideas, concepts, and programs. My personal strength lies in being a strategic and analytical thinker who is also passionately creative and driven by insatiable curiosity. Thanks to this combination, I'm not only able to develop business models and strategies for companies but also to define, market, validate, and continuously optimize the path to success.
After graduating from high school, I spent a year traveling through Australia, New Zealand and Thailand. For almost five months of that, I worked in Australia to finance my trip. The experiences I gained along the way - such as rationing money and food on a daily basis, door-to-door job hunting, camping for weeks at a time, and working multiple jobs at once - left their mark on me. Traveling has helped me find the right focus.
As a pragmatic person, I chose a very hands-on study program that allowed me to work on projects with real companies during my studies but also to manage a semester abroad in China (Shanghai) and an internship in the USA.
Studying at a Chinese university in the bustling city of Shanghai with students from all over the world and learning the basics of the language was a unique experience. Not only were the teaching methods different, but also the world views and everyday life were incomparable to ours. Besides studying, I worked part-time at a Chinese subsidiary of a German company and acted as a kind of marketing consultant for the first time.
After I completed my bachelor's thesis at Philips Lighting in Eindhoven (Netherlands), a consulting project arose at a medium-sized company where I developed a strategy to enter two new markets. I even succeeded in developing a potential customer base. After that, I decided to do my master's degree first and went to Plymouth University in England for that. In 2015, I returned to Philips to write my master's thesis and was offered a job afterwards.
I worked at Philips Lighting (now Signify) for a total of 5 years. I worked in marketing, digital business development and strategic areas. Here, too, I was often deployed as an internal consultant and sent to the US, China and Mexico several times for long-term projects to build and implement projects from scratch. Here, too, consulting was an essential part of my work.
During my time at Philips, I was able to gain a lot of experience. Particularly formative for me was the realization that I am not an employee, but an entrepreneur. As a result, I took my first step and founded my own management consultancy. Since then, I have been supporting companies in Europe, the USA and Asia.
In the last few years, I have found a clear focus and have become the go-to person for my clients when it comes to ideas, visions and strategies. I also mentor start-ups and scale-ups and work as an entrepreneur coach to build new concepts from the ground up or to formulate and achieve a clear vision.
Often, companies limit themselves to exploring only the possibilities that are already achievable in the current state or part of their day-to-day operations. When solving problems, companies often resort to proven solutions without questioning whether there are new ways to achieve the goal. Especially with digitalization, numerous opportunities arise to solve existing problems more efficiently and precisely, or even to explore and embark on entirely new paths.
As an intrapreneur, entrepreneur, and investor, I support companies in their transformation through innovation. My focus is on developing new ideas, concepts, and programs, as well as taking a pragmatic approach to develop, implement, integrate, and scale them.
